On my CV it says that I’m a ‘versatile director / cameraman with over thirty years experience in broadcast and corporate production’.

So, what does that mean?

Well, I began my career as a TV cameraman at the BBC in the mid-seventies before moving on to staff positions at ITN and Yorkshire Television. I’ve since managed my own video production company for over twenty years and I now freelance as a director / cameraman based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, trading under the name of Walnut Media.

I’ve an excellent understanding of the processes involved in television and video production, having worked on hundreds of commercials, corporates and conferences over the years.

I bring enthusiasm and dedication to any position, whether it’s directing, vision mixing, lighting or operating and I’ve directed and shot both single and multi camera productions. I’m also used to working quickly and creatively within tight budgets and demanding deadlines.

I’m familiar with most of the current digital tape formats, from HD to DV and I own a Sony Z1 HDV camcorder complete with basic audio equipment and portable lighting.

So that, in a nutshell, is what I mean by a ‘versatile director / cameraman’. If you’re looking for a freelancer who offers more than you might expect, please give me a call.

Thanks

Gary
