The National Stars 2002
Third Annual awards event for National
Australia Group (GB).
Walnut Media devised the concept for the National Stars awards
in 2000, as a way to recognise and reward exceptional performance
by staff at all levels in Yorkshire Bank and Clydesdale Bank - the
constituents of National Australia Group (GB).
We managed and produced all aspects of the
three day event including a full programme of activities and the
production of a prestigious awards show. Our remit included the
design and production of awards materials, management of the technical
facilities, and the coordination of the communications programme
leading up to the event.
We worked closely with corporate travel specialists
Traveleads to coordinate catering, travel and accommodation for
the 250 winners and guests. The 2002 event was staged at the prestigious
St Andrews Bay Resort Hotel in Scotland. Following a motivational
business session and a range of outdoor activities, the celebrations
culminated in a spectacular awards dinner and show.
The awards show was hosted by Tony Robinson,
in character as Baldrick and TV presenter Georgey Spanswick. Musical
entertainment was provided by Bobby Davro, Kenny Lynch and a 12-piece
swing band. To recognise the achievement of winners, we produced
a series of short video inserts dramatising their achievements in
the style of cinematic trailers.
